Listen to Erin and Nikki talk about the strange weeks they’ve had and Life Hacks they are using to survive when they feel like their cups are being spilled out all over the place. They also discuss Ash Wednesday and the messiness of life. Nikki shares a poem, Kant at the Laundromat, that is filling her cup and both share about music that is filling them up this week which includes Storyteller by Morgan Harper Nichols and Chaos and Calm by James Bay. Take some time to give it a listen and share about all that has been filling your cup. Find them at their Facebook page, webpage, or at Instagram at @GHFpodcast.

You asked on your podcast about the joys and difficulties of Ash Wednesday. In terms of positives, For me, Ash Wednesday is a moment to pause, to reflect, to feel something before the roller coaster journey of Lent. But it is also a difficult day as well. I can’t quite put it into words, but among the most difficult of my pastoral duties is the smearing of ashes on the foreheads of my children and saying, “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”
Great episode…I love this podcast! Lenten blessings.
Great reflections Daniel! Yes, I can imagine that reminding children of their dustiness is a challenge because they are so bright and shiny and new. Ashe Wednesday has become one of the most important services of the year for me lately because in all of my desire to succeed, there is grace in remembering that I am only human.
